Starlink V3

The Starlink V3, also referred to as the Starlink Gen 3, is SpaceX’s most advanced satellite internet kit designed to deliver high-speed, low-latency connectivity, especially in remote and underserved areas. This makes it particularly beneficial for users in regions like Kenya, where access to traditional broadband may be limited or inconsistent. The V3 system features an electronic phased array antenna with a 110° field of view, rated IP67 for dust and water resistance, and operational in temperatures ranging from -30°C to 50°C. It can withstand wind speeds over 96 kph and melt snow at a rate of 40mm per hour, all while consuming an average of 75–100 watts of power.

The Gen 3 router included in the kit supports Wi-Fi 6 and features a tri-band 4×4 MU-MIMO configuration. It covers up to 297 square meters and is capable of connecting up to 235 devices simultaneously. With two latching Ethernet LAN ports and support for Starlink mesh nodes, it provides robust home or office networking capabilities. The router is also IP56 rated for water resistance and includes WPA2 security, ensuring a secure and resilient network setup.

The power supply is similarly durable, rated IP66 and capable of operating in even more extreme temperatures (up to 60°C). It supports input voltages from 100 to 240V, making it compatible with various power grids worldwide. The Starlink V3 kit includes the antenna, a kickstand, Gen 3 router, 15-meter Starlink cable, 1.5-meter AC cable, and the power supply, making it a complete out-of-the-box solution.

Performance-wise, users can expect download speeds ranging from 25 to 220 Mbps, upload speeds between 5 and 20 Mbps, and latency as low as 25 milliseconds.
